| Since the weather is starting to warm up, I decided to do my cooling system flush today. I followed Slinks writeup in the FAQ DIY Coolant Flush Minus Extra Labor. Parts were easy to source from Lowe's and everything went nicely. I used a transparent hose instead of a garden hose so that the color of the expelled coolant was easier to see. I also ran Prestone's super radiator flush before starting this process. After running about 6 gallons of distilled water, the outgoing coolant was nearly colorless. The temperature rose slowly in the beginning but then was steady at 183-185F. I am very satisfied with the results. Here are some pictures.
I used the red colored "Dex Cool" coolant last time so it's hard to say how much rust there was.

That's what the Z does, converts water to hot tea in real-time.
Anybody knows how the used coolant can be disposed off safely? Autozone here in TX doesn't accept it.
